Global Chinese Press (GCP) is the first
semi-weekly Chinese newspaper in Canada. With two issues per
week, we bestowed different styles to the Wednesday and Friday
editions. The Wednesday edition is focused on breaking news,
while the Friday edition is more focused on feature and human-interest
stories. With perfect balance between in-depth reporting and
timeliness, the two editions work together as a successful
biweekly newspaper.
The Wednesday edition is divided into four sections - News,
Finance, Entertainment and Services, while the four categories
of the Friday edition are News, Continent, Entertainment and
Metropolitan.
Authority in reporting Chinese news events
Reading the News Section of GCP can help readers know about
news events all over the world, especially those involved
with Chinese politics, economy, culture and society. Pages
such as "News at Glance", "Special Focus",
"China Business", "Special Report" and
"Taiwan Focus" help readers to understand China's
current affair at various aspects. Such an intense reporting
effort is not seen among other local Chinese newspapers.
Uncovering the truth of news event
GCP is not satisfied with giving superficial news reports.
That is why "Focus on Society" page receives great
applause from readers. This page uses extensive background
information and precise analysis to provide readers with the
truth behind a news event. The "Chinese Voices"
page is an open forum, which gives readers a chance to know
about other people's opinions on a certain issue.
Professional financial services
The "Financial News", "Investment" and
"Trade" pages are very popular among readers. "Immigrants",
"Fashion", "Business Service", "Real
Estate", "Education", "Health", "Life
Style", "Automobile" and "Travel"
offer new immigrants practical information to achieve both
financial prosperity and healthy lifestyle.
Intercultural messenger
GCP takes up the responsibilities of retaining and promoting
the Chinese cultural heritage. The "Intercultural"
page focuses on the cultural difference between the East and
the West, providing readers with wisdoms in intercultural
issues. "Chinese Learning", "China Digest"
and "Features" play an important role in encouraging
children to learn the Chinese language and culture.
